I’m currently working on an iPhone optimised interface. Might go well with the push notifications.
Option to turn off "... is back up" message

I think it would be good if you dont send the "... is back up" sms sincesome services auto recover/restart. Make it optional?

HTTP POST alert type

It would be awesome if you could add a custom alert URL. Like http://mywebsite.com/web_alert.php and post parameters to it so I could run my own custom commands and update my own systems.

Please could everyone comment with what they thing a sensible response time is. To me if a site doesn’t respond in 15 seconds then it isn’t a very good user experience. But if everyone things it should be higher then I will change it.

I’m currently implementing this with a cool free iPhone app that has an API to send notifications with and it can show additional information.
